Independent science fiction — Chicago
Twelve books.
No more.
A list that size is one an editor can still hold entirely in her head. Since 2019 we have printed generation ships, drowned artificial minds, terraformed grief, and the particular static between one signal and the next.
If it is really about the future, we read it twice.

About & Submissions
Nebula Press was founded in a two-room office above a laundromat on Damen Avenue by three editors who had each, separately, been told the same novel was "too quiet for the genre." We publish the quiet ones. We publish twelve of them a year, deliberately, because a smaller list means a longer edit, and a longer edit means the book that reaches you has been read closely by someone who loved it before you did.
We are not interested in space opera as spectacle, or in near-future dread for its own sake. We are interested in what it costs a person to keep being a person somewhere far from home. Send us that book.
