Chromatica — live gallery
Aurora, Unfixed
A domain-warped flow field, compiled and painted in your browser. Nothing about it is a picture — it is running.
Move your cursor through the field. The current remembers it.
The rotation
Held in the Browser
Four more works, each its own program — a seed and a handful of functions resolving into color, sixty times a second. Open one full-screen.

Studio Notes
Chromatica is the studio practice of Iris Halden, a generative artist working directly in GLSL since 2016. Every piece on this page is source, not a picture of source — the shader compiles in your browser and paints its own canvas, frame by frame, for as long as you're looking at it.
There are no photographs here, no textures, no libraries. Each work begins as a handful of numbers — a seed, a frequency, a palette of three cosine curves — and grows into color through iteration alone. The math is the medium; the screen is the only material.
Editions
Each One, Once
Every piece is minted as a single edition — one collector, one file, one canvas that keeps rendering after the sale.
Commissions
Work to Order
Chromatica accepts a small number of commissions each quarter — screen-based pieces, gallery-scale installations, or looped renders synced to physical space. Every commission starts as a working prototype in your browser before any commitment is made.
Commissions begin at 3.5 ETH ($11,800), six-to-eight week turnaround.
